Omaha Mammatus Clouds July 31, 2015

Every so often, I will walk out my door for a walk, see something awesome, and immediately walk back inside to get my "real" camera.  Tonight was one of those nights.  I had just locked my door and started off when I turned around to see some of the coolest clouds I've seen in years.  My best guess is that they're mammatus clouds, but I'm not a meteorologist.  Considering that I was given a section of earth science to teach, I probably should know these things, though...  However, it's not my fault that I got assigned a class outside of my field....

Speaking of teaching, I just completed the first three days of teacher orientation.  It hasn't been bad, but very overwhelming with the sheer volume of information we've been given.  I'm looking forward to moving past the district training and moving into my building so I can really start preparing for the year.  I feel like it has been hard to do much because I don't have a school laptop, a key to the building, or building-specific rules yet.  Most of what they tell is followed by "but you'll have to check with your building admin for specifics".  Not particularly helpful when you're trying to get ahead and reduce stress...  I definitely don't want to do a ton of work and have to scrap it or radically change it, so I'll just have to be patient.

Anyway, it is blissfully the weekend, so I'm going to try to be very zen and clear my mind of it all until Monday.
